CHITWAN: 291 snakebite patients have been treated at Bharatpur Hospital here in the last three months. The number of snakebite patients at this hospital has increased with the onset of the monsoon.
According to Alauddin Miyan, head of the hospital’s emergency room, the hospital has treated 105 snakebite patients in Baisakh 60 and Jestha. Five of them were bitten by giant snakes. Similarly, in Asad, out of 126 snakebite patients treated, nine were bitten by giant snakes, Miyan informed.
Snakebite patients from Chitwan, Makawanpur, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East), Tanahun, Gorkha, and Lamjung have been coming to this hospital. He said that patients who come to the hospital are kept under observation for at least 6 hours and treated according to their symptoms.
Among the large snakes, snakes such as the cobra, cobra, cobra, and viper bite. He said that the bites of the cobra, cobra, and viper affect the patient’s nerves, while the bites of the viper affect the patient’s blood elements.
Patients bitten by giant snakes are treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit, while others are treated in the emergency room. Currently, 10 to 12 snakebite patients come to the hospital for treatment every day. He said that many patients come here because the hospital provides good treatment for snakebites.
