Health Ministry forms committee to categorize injuried from Gen Z protests

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has decided to categorize individuals injured during the Gen Z movement.

A 10-member technical committee, led by Dr. Saroj Sharma, Chief of the Quality Measurement and Regulation Division, has been formed to classify the injuries sustained in the protests held on September 8 and 9.

The committee has already begun preparing classification standards.

Hospitals involved in treating the injured are expected to assist in the classification process.

According to the ministry’s data, 2,316 people were admitted to hospitals during the Gen Z movement.

Of them, 2,243 have been discharged after treatment, 49 died during medical care, and 24 are still receiving treatment in various hospitals.
