KATHMANDU: The government has allocated NPR 2.06 billion to ensure the continued supply of free medicines through basic health services and primary hospitals.
Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, while presenting the budget for fiscal year 2082/83 (2025-26) in the federal parliament’s joint session, informed that this budget is aimed at facilitating the supply of medicines provided free of cost at basic health facilities and hospitals.
He also mentioned that during this fiscal year, skilled doctors and specialized services will be expanded for the diagnosis and treatment of non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, heart disease, kidney, and liver disorders.
