MDCUHS to hold 4th senate meeting tomorrow

The fourth Senate meeting of the Martyr Dasharath Chand University of Health Science (MDCUHS) is scheduled to be held on Wednesday at 9 AM within the university premises. According to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sunil Kumar Joshi, all preparations for the meeting have been completed. This will be the first time the Senate meeting is being held at the university itself, as the previous three were conducted in the federal capital.

The meeting will discuss the university’s regulations, nomination and approval of various procedures, financial regulations, and procurement regulations. It will also deliberate on the future operation of the teaching hospital under the university.

A total of 17 participants, including Minister for Education Sasmit Pokharel; the Education Secretary; the Health Secretary; the Vice-Chairman of the Medical Education Commission; the Chairman of the University Grants Commission; and the Chief Minister, are expected to attend. The Minister for Education, who also serves as the Pro-Chancellor, will chair the meeting. The university is preparing to begin medical education, including MBBS, from the upcoming academic session, while Geta Medical College is currently awaiting the university’s operation.
