TANAHUN: Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel has said that an agreement will be signed during Prime Minister Oli’s upcoming visit to India for the construction of a 300-bed hospital building at the GP Koirala Respiratory Treatment Center.

Speaking at the launch of the “Electronic Medical Record” system at the GP Koirala Respiratory Treatment Center in Shuklagandaki Municipality-5, Belchautara, on Tuesday, Minister Poudel announced that the hospital will be upgraded to a 300-bed capacity with support from the Government of India.

He added that since the Indian government has already agreed to support the hospital’s upgrading, the formal agreement will be signed during PM KP Sharma Oli’s India visit, paving the way for construction to begin.

“The DPR of the hospital has already been approved with a cost of Rs 6 billion and submitted to India’s Ministry of Health. We have completed all necessary procedures,” Minister Poudel said.

He added that while the upgrading process is underway, the general hospital must continue to operate efficiently.
