KATHMANDU: The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) will hold its elections only after the House of Representatives election, following clarification from the Election Commission.
The commission said the Election Code of Conduct, 2026, which took effect at 12:00 AM on January 18, bars election-related programs during its enforcement.
In a formal letter, the commission asked the NMA to postpone its voting.
The NMA had sought guidance on holding its internal election before the national polls, with the commission receiving the request on January 20.
