KATHMANDU: Since January, more than 2,635 dengue cases have been confirmed from 74 districts.
So far, there are no reports of dengue infection from Dolpa, Humla, and Manang districts. The highest number of dengue cases has been reported in Gandaki Province.
Dengue infection has been confirmed in 779 people in Gandaki Province, 545 in Bagmati, 461 in Koshi, 423 in Lumbini, 325 in Sudurpaschim, 56 in Karnali, and 46 in Madhesh Province.
Dengue is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, which breed in any container with clean stagnant water. Major symptoms of dengue include severe body pain, loss of appetite, and diarrhea.
Other symptoms are high fever, joint and muscle pain, eye pain, headaches, red rashes on the body, nausea, and vomiting.
