KATHMANDU: Free eye checkups were conducted for security personnel on the occasion of World Vision Day.
Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh offered the free eye examination service through its hospitals, treatment centers, and network across the country.
Executive Director of the Sangh, Dr Shailesh Kumar Mishra informed that priority was given to the eye health of police officers working day and night in public service, and free eye examinations were conducted throughout the country mobilizing its network on this year’s World Vision Day.
According to Sangh’s general secretary Bharat Bahadur Chand, 28 eye hospitals and 226 eye treatment centers operated across the country are conducting eye examination programmes in coordination with local police offices on the occasion.
“We can live confidently as the police provide us security. When the eyesight of those engaged in our protection is safeguarded, our safety is also ensured. In keeping with this, we are celebrating World Vision Day by prioritizing the eye health of the police this time”.
Sangh’s chair Prof Dr Chet Raj Pant shared that free eye health checkups of police working in public areas were undertaken as they are exposed to roads, smoke, dust, and direct sunlight.
