GAZA: Gaza’s media office has accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire agreement with Hamas 47 times since the truce began in early October, resulting in 38 Palestinian deaths and 143 injuries.

“These violations include direct gunfire on civilians, deliberate shelling, and arrests of non-combatants—evidence that Israel continues its aggression despite the declared end of the war,” the statement read.

Authorities in Gaza urged “the United Nations and guarantor nations” to take urgent steps to compel Israel to halt attacks and ensure the safety of civilians.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Rafah border crossing—a critical gateway for humanitarian aid—would remain closed until Hamas returns the bodies of all deceased hostages still held in Gaza.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu has directed that the Rafah crossing remain closed until further notice,” his office stated on Saturday. “Reopening will depend on Hamas fulfilling its obligations to return the hostages and bodies, and to uphold the agreed terms.”

The Israeli military confirmed that the Red Cross had received the bodies of two hostages as part of the ceasefire deal late Saturday.

In what has been described as the deadliest single breach of the fragile truce, Israeli forces killed 11 members of a Palestinian family on Friday in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood.

Gaza’s civil defence said the victims—seven children and three women—were traveling home when their bus was attacked for allegedly crossing the “yellow line,” an informal boundary set by the Israeli army.

“They had crossed an imaginary ‘yellow line’ mentioned by the army, but there are no visible signs on the ground,” said Mahmoud Basal, a civil defence spokesperson. “It’s impossible for civilians to know where such lines are.”

Footage released by Gaza’s civil defence, in coordination with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, showed rescue teams retrieving the bodies from the wreckage.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its troops fired after identifying “a suspicious vehicle crossing the yellow line and approaching soldiers,” claiming the vehicle posed an “imminent threat.”

Both Israel and Hamas continue to trade blame over ceasefire violations. Israel accuses Hamas of breaching the agreement by not returning all deceased hostages.

While Hamas handed over the last 20 surviving hostages earlier in the week, it has so far returned only 12 of the 28 bodies, saying recovery efforts are hampered by rubble and the need for specialist equipment.

Turkey has deployed disaster relief specialists to assist in the ongoing recovery of bodies.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than 68,000 Palestinians have been killed since the war began, with search operations still continuing amid fragile ceasefire conditions.
