PHNOM PENH: Samdech Techo Hun Sen, president of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party, said on Wednesday that the kingdom is committed to strictly and fully implementing a ceasefire with Thailand to restore peace for both nations.
Hun Sen, also president of the senate, said restoring peace between Cambodia and Thailand will also contribute to peace, security, stability, and prosperity in the region.
“Cambodia expresses its deepest gratitude to all friendly countries and the international community, particularly the United States, the People’s Republic of China, and ASEAN member states under the coordination of Malaysia as the ASEAN Chair, for their active assistance and participation in seeking this peaceful solution,” he said.
Cambodia and Thailand agreed to an immediate ceasefire on Dec. 27, 2025, after three weeks of armed conflict that caused casualties on both sides.
