GAZA: Hamas has announced its agreement to release all remaining Israeli hostages but is requesting additional negotiations on several points outlined in the US-proposed Gaza peace plan.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel is “preparing to immediately implement” the first phase of Donald Trump’s plan.
The announcements follow Trump giving Hamas a Sunday deadline to accept the peace plan or face unspecified consequences, which he described as “all hell.”
On social media, Trump expressed optimism, saying Hamas appears “ready for a lasting peace” and called on Israel to “stop the bombing of Gaza.”
While Hamas’ statement is significant, many details remain unresolved. Notably, Hamas did not address a critical demand of the plan: its disarmament and a commitment to no longer play a role in Gaza’s governance.
