GAZA: Israeli air strikes and bombardments across the Gaza Strip killed at least 70 Palestinians on Saturday, according to medical sources.

The attacks came despite U.S. President Donald Trump urging Israel to halt its offensive after Hamas signaled acceptance of some elements of Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan.

At least 45 of those killed were in Gaza City, where Israel has intensified operations in recent weeks. The assault has displaced about one million residents to the already overcrowded south.

In Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, 18 people, including seven children aged between two months and eight years, were killed when a residential home was struck.

Several nearby buildings were also damaged. Israeli strikes also hit a displacement camp in al-Mawasi, a designated humanitarian zone in southern Gaza, killing two children and injuring at least eight others.

Despite being labeled a “safe area,” al-Mawasi has been repeatedly targeted in recent weeks.Air raids were also reported in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Hospitals across the territory, already crippled by fuel shortages, are struggling to treat the mounting casualties.
