KATHMANDU: The U.S. military confirmed that three service members have been killed in action, with five others seriously wounded, during operations targeting Iran.

Several additional personnel sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions and are being returned to duty, according to a statement from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

“Major combat operations continue, and our response effort is ongoing,” CENTCOM said.

The statement noted that details, including the identities of the fallen, will be withheld for 24 hours to allow notification of next of kin, emphasizing that the situation remains fluid.
