Ward Chair arrested with bribe money

Bara, Dec 18: A team of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Hetauda, has arrested Chairperson of Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-3.

Chairperson Tara Karki was arrested on Monday with Rs 500,000 bribe money from Jitpur-based Jaiswal Hotel, said police.

Chief of Area Police Office, Simara, Pradeep Chhetri, shared that Karki had taken the bribe amount from a local Rajan Upreti for road construction.

Further investigation into the case was underway, according to CIAA.
