SC Issues Interim Order Against Implementation of Ambassador Recall
The Supreme Court on Sunday issued an interim order preventing the government from implementing its decision to recall 11 Nepali ambassadors from various countries. A joint bench of Justices Sharanga Subedi and Shrikanta Paudel directed that the October 6 Cabinet decision not be enforced until further notice. The order came during the hearing of a writ petition filed by advocates Pratibha Upreti and Sunil Bhattarai, who have named the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers as the respondent. The petitioners argued that the mass recall was politically motivated, violated diplomatic norms, and undermined good governance.
Four Killed as Bus Hits Autorickshaw in Dhanusha
Four people, including three members of the same family, were killed and two children critically injured when a passenger bus collided with an autorickshaw. The incident occurred on Saturday evening when a bus (registration number SU PRA 01–001 Kha 3288) traveling from Biratnagar to Dhangadhi struck an autorickshaw (Province 2–01–001 HA 1230) coming from the opposite direction. According to Inspector Laxman KC of the Dhalkebar Police Station, the accident took place at Birendra Bazaar in Ganeshman Charnath Municipality-1, Dhanusha, along the East-West Highway.

More than 550 tourists and over 100 vehicles have been stranded in Upper Mustang after days of heavy snowfall and landslides severed roads, electricity, and internet connections, local officials confirmed on Sunday. The Jomsom–Korala highway, part of Nepal’s national pride road project linking to the Chinese border, has been severely damaged after multiple sections collapsed or were buried under landslides. Communication has been completely cut off with Lo Manthang, Chhusang, and Damodar Kunda since Saturday. Main Roads Reopen After Heavy Rains in Eastern Nepal
Main roads that had been blocked due to continuous heavy rains have reopened starting today. Traffic has resumed on the Mechi Highway, the Pushpalal (Mid-Hill) Highway, and the Tamor Corridor, all of which had been disrupted by floods and landslides. The Rajduwali section of the Mechi Highway in Ilam, which connects Taplejung, Panchthar, and Ilam in the eastern hills to the Terai, reopened this morning. Pawan Bhattarai, Chief of the Road Division Office in Ilam, said that after minor repairs on Sunday morning, the road was opened for small vehicles. However, considering the risk, the road had been closed overnight.

Continuous rainfall since Thursday night has triggered landslides and floods at 10 different locations along the Kagbeni–Korala road section in Mustang, causing severe damage to the road infrastructure and blocking vehicular movement. NRB Increases Use of Long-Term Liquidity Instruments
Nepal Rastra Bank has been increasing the use of long-term liquidity instruments. As liquidity issues in the financial system became increasingly complex, the central bank expanded the use of six-month deposit collection instruments. On Sunday, the bank issued a 175-day deposit collection instrument worth Rs 40 billion. Earlier, on the previous Wednesday, the bank had issued a deposit collection instrument for the same duration. According to the central bank, the financial system had approximately Rs 68 billion in liquidity as of Saturday.
Exports Surge Nearly 90% in First Three Months of Current Fiscal Year
Exports have surged by nearly 90% in the first three months of the current fiscal year. According to customs department data, the largest share is from soybean oil. The department listed soybean oil as the top export, followed by carpets and sunflower oil. Soybean oil worth Rs 30.7, totaling 14855,541.10 kg, was exported to India. Carpets worth Rs 2.57 billion (93,438 sq meters) ranked second, while sunflower oil worth Rs 2.13 billion (3,906,336 liters) was third in export volume.
