KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel officially inaugurated NTV World, the English-language television channel under Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) Nepal, on the occasion of PSB’s first anniversary.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Sunday at the PSB Nepal Television premises in Singha Durbar.

NTV World has been launched as the English channel of Nepal Television and aims to present content that represents Nepal to the international community.

During the event, President Paudel also unveiled the PSB logo and its mobile application.PSB Nepal, which was formed by merging Nepal Television and Radio Nepal, marked its first anniversary on the occasion.

The PSB Bill was authenticated by President Paudel on October 8, 2024. As per the provisions of the Act, the law came into effect on November 8, 2024— the 31st day after authentication.

With its implementation, Radio Nepal (established under the Radio Broadcasting Service Development Committee Formation Order, 1984 and Nepal Television (formed under the Communication Corporation Act, 1971, were officially transformed into the Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) Nepal.
