152 physical structures suffer damage during Gen-Z protests in Jhapa

JHAPA: As many as 152 physical structures are found damaged due to the arson and vandalism that occurred in the course of the Gen-Z protests in Jhapa district.

According to the District Administration Office, damage has occurred in 12 local government buildings, 55 ward offices, 10 federal office buildings, and three provincial office buildings.

Likewise, one public building, 37 private residences, two commercial buildings, two temporary police posts and two temporary police stations, six police posts, nine area police offices, one area and district traffic police office each, one ward police office and one school building suffered during the violence.

The Chief District Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari said that there has been arson and vandalism in a total of 152 buildings, including eight political party office buildings and one Damak View tower based in Damak.

CDO Adhikari said work is underway as per a decision to prepare, within five days, a report on the damage caused to physical properties, including the offices and the private residential buildings that were vandalized during the Gen-Z movement in the district.
