17 injured as microbus crashes in Gorkha

GORKHA: Seventeen people, including the driver, were injured in a microbus accident at Ghumtimod in Siranchowk Rural Municipality-4, Chorkate, Gorkha.

According to Rajkumar Shrestha, Information Officer at the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police, the microbus (Ba 4 Kha 6043), which was heading to Abu Khaireni from Bhachchek, met with an accident after losing control and hitting a roadside wall on the right side.

Among the injured, eight-year-old Swarinla Chaudhary, 43-year-old Laxmi Chaudhary, and 36-year-old Pavitra Mahato sustained serious injuries.

Upon receiving information, a police team reached the scene, rescued the injured, and sent them to Province Hospital Gorkha for treatment, Shrestha said.

Most of the passengers were residents of Khairahani Municipality, Chitwan. Police confirmed that there were 19 passengers on board the vehicle.
