BHOJPUR: Thirty senior citizens of Temkemaiyung rural municipality-4, Nagi, have been honoured for their contribution in building a society.
At a programme organised here on Monday, 30 senior citizens including 103-year-old Indra Bahadur Rai as well as senior citizens above 80 years were honoured.
On the occasion, the ward office had presented letter of honour and warm clothes. Koshi Province Assembly member Binod Wantaba said the bodies at all levels should be serious about care, medical treatment, security and protection of rights of senior citizens.
Similarly, Chairperson of the rural municipality, Saroj Basnet, expressed the belief that the programme would be helpful to teach future generation about the culture as senior citizens are pride of the nation.
Likewise, ward chairperson Harka Raj Rai mentioned that it was responsibility and duty of the ward and the people of the ward to honour the senior citizens.
