7 million worth of medicine recovered in Jhapa

Police have arrested a man from Buddhashanti village in Jhapa district along with a large quantity of drugs. The arrested is Saindra Rai, 30, of Suryodaya-3, Ilam, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Basanta Pathak.

According to him, a police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Budhabare at around 6:15 pm on Friday arrested Rai while he was carrying illegal drugs in a pickup truck (May 1 Cha 6833) coming from Ilam to Jhapa at Buddhashanti-4. Eleven types of medicines worth Rs. 7 million 77 thousand 944 have been recovered from him.

He said that preparations are being made to send the recovered drugs and pick-up vehicles to Morang, which will be sent to the Biratnagar branch office of the Department of Drug Management for further investigation.
