KATHMANDU: As the Gen-Z protests spark unrest across the country, senior officials of the Nepal Army have convened for discussions.

According to Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Rajaram Basnet, a meeting of army officials is currently underway at the military headquarters.

“Discussions are ongoing regarding recent developments. The army’s official stance will be released after the meeting concludes,” Basnet said.

The Gen-Z protests, which began on Monday, have so far left 19 people dead due to police firing and hundreds injured nationwide.

On the second day, protesters have violated curfew, carried out vandalism, and set fire to the homes of political leaders.
