KATHMANDU: More than 800 Nepali citizens received direct assistance during a passport renewal service camp organized by the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi from April 17 to 18.
The Embassy also hosted a free health camp on Friday targeting Nepali workers in the UAE, where over 300 individuals benefited from various medical services.
A medical team led by Dr. Yashir Shrestha from Ahilya Hospital in Abu Dhabi offered free eye checkups, diabetes screenings, and blood pressure tests. In addition to the health screenings, Dr. Shrestha also interacted with participants, sharing valuable advice on managing physical and mental health issues, the Embassy reported.
The program included an awareness session on labor rights and welfare matters. Regular consular services such as document certification were also provided during the event.
The Embassy has been conducting similar outreach programs regularly, offering services and raising awareness on physical and mental health, as well as labor-related concerns, to support Nepali workers in the UAE. Volunteers from the Non-Resident Nepali Association UAE and the Nepali Society UAE assisted by running a dedicated counter for passport-related services.
The Embassy affirmed its continued commitment to delivering efficient and accessible services and noted that such camps will be organized in the future as needed to streamline the passport renewal process and reach more Nepali citizens.
