The government has declared Bhakti Thapa a national figure of Nepal.

He has been declared a national figure for the bravery he displayed during the Anglo-Nepali War, informed Minister for Communications and Information Technology Basanta Kumar Nembang, who is also the government spokesperson.

Minister Nembang informed about this development while making public the decisions made by the Council of Ministers.
