BHAKTAPUR: Narayan Man Bijukchhe, the Chairman of the Nepal Workers and Peasant Party (NWPP), has urged party leaders and members to set aside personal interests in favor of the greater good of society and the nation.

He emphasized that collective well-being is crucial for the nation’s prosperity.

During the ongoing eighth general convention of the party, Chairman Bijukchhe stated that a true communist leader focuses on comprehensive national change rather than personal or familial gains.

“Devotion and sacrifice are fundamental qualities for any communist. Living for society fosters equality. The ultimate goal should be the establishment of socialism,” he said, encouraging party members to adhere to these principles.

He also stressed that any actions that endanger the country or its people should not be tolerated.

Following Bijukchhe’s address, the convention held a closed session, during which district, province, and central leaders presented reports, as stated by central member Saroj Gosain.

On the third day of the convention, party secretary Prem Suwal is set to present a report, with further discussions scheduled. Around 300 representatives from 50 districts are participating in the event, which will conclude the following day.
