Blocked Nyalu road opened after twelve days

SIMKOT: The Nyalu road section in Namkha Rural Municipality-6, Humla, has reopened after 12 days since it was blocked. The road was blocked due to snow accumulation due to snowfall and it has been reopened after the snow was cleared.

The Department of Infrastructure Development, Humla had sent an excavator from the district headquarters Simkot to remove the accumulated snow on the Nyalu road. The head of the Department of Infrastructure, Naresh Raj Jaisi, said that the road became operational after four feet of the accumulated snow was removed on Thursday.

With the road becoming operational, more than forty passengers who were stranded in Tumling after the snowfall have safely reached the district headquarters Simkot.

After the snowfall, the cold has been increasing significantly in the Limi Valley. The mercury here tends to drop below the freezing point in the morning.
