KAVRE: The night-time restriction on vehicle movement along the BP Highway has officially been lifted from today, marking the resumption of round-the-clock operation.

A meeting of the District Security Committee held earlier this week at the Kavrepalanchok District Administration Office decided to ease the restriction with the nearing end of the monsoon and the approach of Dashain and Tihar festivals.

Authorities said the move is aimed at facilitating easier travel for passengers while ensuring compliance with the approved road safety action plan.

Since the third week of June, vehicles had been barred from using the highway at night due to high risks of accidents during the rainy season.

For safety reasons, traffic was completely halted for 12 hours every night along the Dhulikhel–Nepalthok section. With today’s decision, vehicles can now operate smoothly through day and night, easing festive travel pressures.
