NARAYANGHAT: The Chormara bridge on the Kathmandu–Narayanghat–Butwal section of the East-West Highway collapsed on Monday night, leading to a complete halt in highway traffic.
In response, authorities have diverted vehicles through an alternative route that passes via Chormara, Tandi, Daunbari, Baruwa, Bhandara, and the Girubari river, eventually connecting to Arunkhola or Chowrangi through Herbstar.
Since the riverbed at the damaged bridge site is currently dry, vehicles are still able to pass through the area without major issues.
