NAWALPUR: A passenger bus traveling from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj was swept away by the flooded Binayi River late last night.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. in Dumkibas, Nawalpur. The bus, bearing registration number Bhe 1 Kha 4085, was carrying 38 passengers, including three infants, when it got caught in the rising floodwaters.

All passengers were rescued safely, confirmed DSP Madhu Nepal, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Nawalpur. The bus was later discovered about one kilometer downstream from where it had been swept away.
