KATHMANDU: On the eve of the Gen-Z protest scheduled for tomorrow at Kathmandu’s Maitighar Mandala, the Central Security Committee met at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar on Sunday evening.
Chaired by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, the two-hour meeting brought together senior officials, including Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Army Brigadier General Pradeep Jung KC, Nepal Police Inspector General Chandra Kuber Khapung, Armed Police Inspector General Raju Aryal, National Investigation Department Director Hutaraj Thapa, and Kathmandu Chief District Officer Chhabi Rijal.
According to Home Ministry sources, the discussions focused on security arrangements, enforcing the rule of law, facilitating peaceful demonstrations, and preventing vandalism or unrest. With recent social media restrictions in place, authorities remain on high alert as the Gen-Z protest, highlighting concerns over political leadership and corruption, prepares to take place.
