KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (P) KP Sharma Oli has conveyed his heartfelt wishes on the occasion of Nepal’s 75th National Democracy Day, calling it a defining moment in the lives of all Nepalis.
In a social media message, Oli referred to Falgun 7 as a historic day when Nepalis transformed from being subjects to citizens through sacrifice and struggle.
“On this glorious and historic day, I send my warmest wishes to all democracy-loving Nepalis,” he stated.
He also honored the martyrs who gave their lives for democracy, including Shukraraj Shastri, Dharmabhakta Mathema, Dasharath Chand, and Gangalal Shrestha.
“An emotional tribute and deep respect to the immortal martyrs who fought against autocratic rule,” he added.
Democracy Day commemorates the end of the Rana regime in 1951 and marks the beginning of Nepal’s democratic journey.
