KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has described the violence during the recent Gen-G protests as an “unimaginable and tragic event” in the nation’s history.
In his Dashain festival message on Monday, Deuba expressed hope that the holiday would help strengthen unity among communities, institutions, families, and individuals.
Deuba himself was severely injured during clashes on September 8–9 and remains hospitalized. Citing security reasons, he has not appeared in public, though he conveyed his festival greetings through social media.
