BAGLUNG: Snowfall has occurred in Dhorpatan for the first time this year.
After a prolonged dry spell, snowfall accompanied by rain began on Sunday evening, bringing a drop in temperature to the region.
Farmers are expressing excitement, hopeful that the snowfall will improve crop yields.
Binod BK, Ranger at Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, reported that Dhorpatan Valley and the surrounding areas have turned white due to the snowfall.
Although the weather had been worsening since last Friday, it wasn’t until Sunday evening that the snow, along with rain, arrived, BK explained.
Prem Bahadur Gharti Magar, a local resident of Dhorpatan Municipality-9, mentioned that feeding horses and mules has become challenging due to the snowfall.
However, Gharti also believes the combination of snow and rain will benefit the crops.
He shared, “There had been a long drought, which caused the plants to dry up.”
