BESISAHAR: The Dumre–Besisahar–Chame road, which had been closed for three days due to the risk of floods and landslides, has reopened following improved weather conditions since Sunday.
This road section, connecting Dumre of Tanahun along the Prithvi Highway to Besisahar in Lamjung and further to Chame, the district headquarters of Manang, has resumed vehicle movement.
With the road reopened, transportation in the area has started to normalize.Vehicles from Besisahar have already departed carrying passengers to Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara. Transport to Manang has also resumed without obstruction.
Earlier, anticipating heavy rainfall, the administration had issued a public notice suspending travel along this road from October 4 to 6.
From Sunday morning, vehicles heading to destinations other than Kathmandu were allowed to operate. Vehicles from Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan have also entered Lamjung since the reopening.
Police stated that aside from the suspension on this major route, rural roads across the district are open without obstruction, and there has been no damage caused by floods or landslides throughout Lamjung.
