KATHMANDU: While the central committee meeting of the Nepali Congress is underway, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Raghuji Panta reached the party’s central office in Sanepa on Monday.

Minister Panta visited Sanepa during the meeting to hold discussions with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba regarding the controversial School Education Bill.

Currently, President Deuba and Minister Panta are holding talks on the bill.

Nepali Congress Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire is also participating in the discussion.

The School Education Bill remains stuck in the parliamentary committee.

Although the government had aimed to pass it within the month of Asar, lack of consensus within the committee has increased pressure on the ruling coalition.

The Nepal Teachers’ Federation has already warned of resuming protests if the bill, which the government plans to pass through Parliament soon, is endorsed without addressing their concerns.
