Police in Nawalparasi district arrested eight persons allegedly involved in gambling offences from Kawasoti Municipality-2 on Sunday night. They were nabbed from Ramji Pandey’s residence in Loktantra Chowk.

One of the arrested has been identified as Sagar Kunwar, a 28-year-old resident of the same municipality in the district while the names of the other seven have not been revealed.

Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Nawalpur-based District Police Office nabbed them. The police also seized Rs 4.33 lakh and four decks of cards from their possession.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed the police.
