KATHMANDU: Former king Gyanendra Shah has voiced his concerns, highlighting that nearly two decades after his departure from the Narayanhiti Royal Palace, the nation continues to encounter crises.

On the occasion of National Unity Day 2082 BS, he shared his greetings via a video message directed at all Nepalis, both within the nation and abroad, while also honouring the legacy of nation-builder Prithvi Narayan Shah.

He reflected on his decision to withdraw from governance, which he did with a spirit of cooperation, aligning with the aspirations of the political parties that assumed power with promises to steer the country towards economic advancement and stability.

Today marks the 304th birth anniversary of the nation-builder Prithvi Narayan Shah, celebrated through a variety of programmes.
