KATHMANDU: Five major highways across the country remain obstructed due to floods and landslides, according to Nepal Police.

Police spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General Binod Ghimire said that five highways are completely blocked, while two highways are operating on a single lane because of the continuous rainfall.

The blocked routes include the Koshi Highway at Bhotkhola in Sankhuwasabha, the Mechi Highway in Ilam, the Nepal–China connecting road in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality of Rasuwa, the Pasang Lhamu Highway in Rasuwa, and the Jomsom–Korala section in Mustang.

Similarly, the Koshi Lokmarg at Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality–6 of Dhankuta has been opened for one-way traffic after being obstructed by floods and landslides, police said.
