Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has called on Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) to move forward in unity.

Addressing the Unity General Convention organized today by the High-Level Committee of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), she urged all members to set aside internal politics and focus on unity within the organization.

She said, “NRNA is not a political organization. You are free to engage in politics within your respective parties, but I urge you to unite with a selfless spirit to fulfill the noble objectives of the organization.”

She also expressed commitment that she and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would provide necessary support and facilitation to help NRNA achieve its goals.

Highlighting the recent disputes within NRNA, she acknowledged that the ongoing Unity General Convention—being held in accordance with a Supreme Court directive—was a step toward resolution, and thanked all those who contributed to making it happen.

“This convention has been possible because of your understanding that the institution is bigger than individuals, and the country is bigger than the institution,” she said.

“You are not here to play politics or to become ministers or prime ministers. You are here to serve the interests of Non-Resident Nepalis. Therefore, it is not appropriate to mix politics within the association,” she added.

She reiterated that there is no alternative to uniting and working together to fulfill the objectives of the NRNA by setting aside internal differences.
