DHANUSHA: Four people, including three members of the same family, were killed and two children critically injured when a passenger bus collided with an autorickshaw.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening when a bus (registration number SU PRA 01–001 Kha 3288) traveling from Biratnagar to Dhangadhi struck an autorickshaw (Province 2–01–001 HA 1230) coming from the opposite direction.
According to Inspector Laxman KC of the Dhalkebar Police Station, the accident took place at Birendra Bazaar in Ganeshman Charnath Municipality-1, Dhanusha, along the East-West Highway.
The deceased include 40-year-old Dhan Bahadur Purvachhane Magar, 35-year-old Shambhu Purbachhane Magar, 35-year-old Nisha Magar, and around 40-year-old autorickshaw driver Dambar Rai.
All of them died at the scene. Inspector KC further stated that 14-year-old Sheetal Magar and 9-year-old Roshan Magar sustained serious injuries.
They have been admitted to Neuro Hospital in Janakpurdham for treatment. Police have said that further investigation into the accident is ongoing.
