Government to provide relief support to Gen-Z injured

KATHMANDU:  The government has decided to provide immediate relief of Rs 15,000 each to 2,429 people injured during the Gen-Z movement and subsequent protests.

The decision was taken by the Council of Ministers today, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel said.

The government has also decided to amend Schedule 12 of the Immigration Regulations, 2051 BS, to maintain the trekking permit fee for foreign citizens in the Upper Mustang region at USD 50 per person or its equivalent in any other foreign currency.

Likewise, a decision was taken to approve additional grant assistance of about USD 5 million from the Norwegian government and about USD 2.1 million from the Swiss government for the provincial and local governance strengthening program.

Minister Kharel shared that a decision was taken to form the ‘Nepal Stock Exchange Limited Restructuring Recommendation Committee 2082’ under the coordination of Prakash Jung KC (Kathmandu) to conduct the necessary study and submit suggestions for restructuring the Nepal Stock Exchange Limited.

A decision was taken to recommend to the President to issue an ordinance to amend the Nepal Special Services Act, 2042 BS. The government has also decided to appoint Dr Kalpana Kumari Shrestha (Nawalparasi) as the Executive Director of the Shaheed Dharmabhakta National Transplant Center.
