KATHMANDU: The Kanti Lokpath road section connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu has been obstructed due to rainfall.

According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, the diversion road constructed for vehicle movement has been washed away by rainwater since Saturday night, leading to the obstruction.

District Police Office Makwanpur spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shyamu Aryal, informed that the diversion road over the Bagmati River—located at the border of Makwanpur’s Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8 and Lalitpur’s Bagmati Rural Municipality-2—was washed away this morning, Sunday.

He stated that a police team is working to reopen the obstructed road. Previously, the administration had announced that the road section from Thingan to Baguwa in Bakaiya Rural Municipality of Makwanpur would remain closed for 6 hours daily—from 10 AM to 4 PM—for 15 days, from Baisakh 18 to Jestha 1 (Nepali calendar), for road widening works.

As rainfall continues, the District Administration Office Makwanpur has urged travelers to be cautious when traveling between Hetauda and Kathmandu. Travelers are advised to check the road conditions before setting out.
