CHITWAN: Surajman Shrestha, 34, from Bharatpur-10, Chitwan, passed away on Saturday while returning from Annapurna Base Camp, according to Hari Basnet, spokesperson for the Kaski District Police.

Shrestha had gone trekking alone. His body was rescued by helicopter and is undergoing postmortem at Gandaki Provincial Hospital, Basnet added.

During the return journey, Shrestha reportedly faced health issues. Fellow porters brought him to a hotel in Deurali, where he ultimately passed away.
