KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has urged groups staging street protests with various demands to engage in dialogue with the government.
Following a discussion at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar with the heads of security agencies, he emphasized that the government is ready for talks.
“The government addresses political demands through dialogue. You need to come for talks. The government is ready to engage. There is no need to go to the streets,” Home Minister Aryal said.
He also stressed that while exercising democratic rights, protesters should be conscious not to infringe upon the rights of others.
“Do not cause damage to public or private property. Do not engage in any violent activities. This is a request to various political forces and activists,” the minister added.
The Baluwatar security meeting included a detailed analysis of the country’s current security situation.
Minister Aryal said the government is focused on maintaining a stable security environment to ensure smooth preparations for upcoming elections.
