KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has directed authorities to ensure disaster management measures are effective and focused on the needs of the people.

Highlighting the forecast of moderate to very heavy rainfall between October 3 and 6 across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, Minister Aryal underscored the urgency of preparedness.

He called for good governance and the uninterrupted delivery of essential public services during crises.

The directives were issued during a meeting attended by Home Secretary Rameshwar Dangal, senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and representatives of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).

Also present in the virtual discussion were chiefs and disaster focal persons from all four security agencies, Chief District Officers from all 77 districts, and members of District Security Committees.
