BAITADI: Following the detection of bird flu infections in various parts of Uttarakhand state in India, heightened vigilance has been adopted in the border areas of Nepal.

Veterinary hospital and animal service centre Baitadi’s chief, Gumani Pant, shared that measures have been taken to prevent the entry of bird flu in the border areas. After detecting infections in districts such as Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand, strict measures have been enforced in the border area.

‘Since it is a border district, we have adopted precautions to prevent entry.’ Enhanced vigilance has been adopted in Dasharathchand Municipality and Pancheshwar Rural Municipality, which are connected to India. After the federal government urged these two municipalities to adopt heightened vigilance, both municipalities issued notices to maintain alertness to public.
