PARSA: A prisoner of Birgunj Jail has passed away while receiving medical treatment. The dead prisoner has been identified as Anil Mahato, 37, a resident of Birgunj Metropolitan City-12.

Jail administrator Babulal Regmi informed that Mahato, who was imprisoned in connection with a homicide case, died during the treatment.

“We took the inmate to Narayani Hospital immediately after noticing his health issues. But, he breathed his last while undergoing treatment,” he stated. Mahato had been sentenced to three years of imprisonment and fined Rs 2,000 by the court over a vehicular homicide case.
