KATHMANDU: Israeli intelligence agencies have reportedly obtained a new video of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali youth kidnapped by Hamas.

His family has confirmed that the video will be made public on Wednesday evening.

According to the Israeli Hostage Families Forum, the video was recovered by Israeli intelligence units and shows Joshi, who was abducted from Kibbutz Alumim on October 7 last year.

In a statement, the Joshi family said, “This proof of life from Gaza has strengthened our unshakable belief that he is alive.”

Bipin Joshi had arrived in Israel just three weeks before the October 7 massacre to participate in an agricultural training program.

He was kidnapped from Kibbutz Alumim, where several Nepalis were living.

A Wall Street Journal report published in November 2023 mentioned that Joshi had saved the lives of those hiding with him in a shelter.

According to the report, when two grenades were thrown into the room, he grabbed one and threw it outside.

However, the other grenade exploded, leaving five of his companions seriously injured.
