BAGLUNG: Continuous rainfall since Thursday night triggered a landslide in Dablyang, Baglung Municipality-10, causing the Kaligandaki Corridor to be completely blocked.

According to Police Sub Inspector Gangaram BK, the landslide washed away a section of the road, disrupting all traffic from Baglung Bazaar—the district headquarters—toward the southern parts of the district. Long-distance vehicles using the corridor have been stranded near the landslide site.

This section of the Kaligandaki Corridor has been highly prone to landslides over the past four years, frequently getting blocked even with moderate rainfall.

The Baglung–Balewa airport section, currently undergoing blacktopping, has also sustained damage due to the landslide.

Bidari Construction Service, the contractor responsible for the blacktopping project, is actively working to remove debris and repair damaged portions. However, authorities have indicated that it will take time before the road is fully operational again.
