LAMJUNG: A landslide, triggered by continuous rainfall since Tuesday night, has blocked the Dumre–Besisahar–Chame road section, severing the vital link to Manang district.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at Chyamche in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-4, where large boulders and debris obstructed the thoroughfare, local residents reported.
Efforts to clear the road are currently underway through coordination with the Dumre–Besisahar–Chame Road Project, according to District Police Office spokesperson, Inspector Rajkishor Sah Teli.
This route, the sole road connecting Manang and parts of Marsyangdi Rural Municipality to Besisahar and other areas, frequently experiences disruptions due to landslides during the monsoon season, causing significant hardship for travelers.
Authorities have advised the public to assess road conditions thoroughly before embarking on journeys during the rainy period.
