Madhes province announces extra holiday for Chhath celebration on October 28

DHANUSHA: The Madhesh province government has announced additional public holiday for October 28, the fourth day of Chhath festival.

Issuing a notice about public holiday today, the Ministry of Home, Communications and Law under the province decided to announce public holiday across the province for concluding the Chhath festival by offering prayers to the shining sun on October 28 (Tuesday).

In the notice issued by Ministry’s deputy secretary Ganesh Nayak, it is informed that the Madhesh province government had included an extra one day holiday for Chhath festival in the provincial gazette on last April.

He informed that the extra public holiday has been granted for October 28 accordingly.

It may be noted that the federal government had already declared a public holiday across the country for coming Monday (October 27) for offering prayers to the setting sun on the following day of the Chhath.
